Nottingham Hypnotherapist
I qualified as an advanced hypnotherapist in June 2001 and I am a member of The Corporation of Advanced Hypnotherapy, an elite group of hypnotherapists, some 300 strong nationwide, who are trained to the highest standards, in the very latest techniques, and all observe our strict code of ethics.
The Corporation has its roots back some 60 years and our techniques have been developing ever since, using the most modern methods learned in this country and in the United States.
All members of the Corporation have received advanced training at the Atkinson-Ball College of Hypnotherapy and Hypno-healing.
I am a Registered General Nurse (what used to be known as SRN when I qualified in 1977) and, whilst bringing up my children, I worked as a bereavement counsellor.
Over the years I have become increasingly aware that mind and body are inextricably linked. Our thoughts and emotions affect our physical health and wellbeing. We are all aware how creative thinking enables people to achieve their goals and ambitions and promotes better health.
I worked for 10 years as a Staff Nurse in the Paediatric Unit in Northampton General Hospital and as a Hypnotherapist at home. These occupations were practised independently of each other. In the future I should like to think that there will be a more holistic approach to health care i.e. truly complementary medicine.
Since moving to Nottingham in 2008 I have given a presentation and workshops to around 150 GP trainees and Specialist Registrars in the City Hospital with very positive responses. I continue to have referrals from GPs and Consultants at the Nottingham City Hospital Pain Management Clinic.
